Paddle the River and Lakes
The Uwharrie River flows through the beautiful backcountry of Randolph and Montgomery County. It meets the Yadkin River at the base of Morrow Mountain. This slow moving water is ideal for river riders and fishermen alike. Light rippling rapids and long winding passages through the Uwharrie Mountains provide an escape into the calm of this region. Landmarks are scattered along the river's journey. The old mills, gold mines and foot bridges allow a glimpse into the not so distant past.
The wide shallow river is a fly fisherman's oasis.
